Cherry Blossom Musical Arts directors Paul Safar, Ben Farrell and Nancy Wood are taking classical music into the cafes with a mix of classical art songs, clarinet & piano duets, four hands piano, and classic and original jazz.
Their musical journey will travel through music by Mozart, Schubert, Wolf,Faure, Debussy, and De Falla as well as original work by Paul Safar and a few jazz classics.
Paul Safar is an accomplished pianist and composer whose work has been performed recently by Fear No Music as a part of the Cascadia Composers Concerts in Portland, and as a part of the Portland International Piano Festival. Nancy Wood is a Eugene-based singer who has gained the attention recently of internationally known composers such as Derek Healey and Tomas Svoboda for her pure tone, musicality and ability to intepret new art music. Ben Farrell is an established musician on both clarinet and piano and performs for the Oregon Country Fair, The Eugene Symphonic Band, and as a part of a duo with soprano Darcy Du Ruz. Ben is also the President of Cherry Blossom Musical Arts.
